Its pure purpose is to entertain and for at least 90 minutes help forget about the problems or struggles. To bring unity to a nation for at least while the tournament last. If soccer could heal the woes of a nation then maybe there would be less need of wars and it could all be settled in a match. But it is clearly not like that.
